In this update of the 1994 English edition, Laskaris (oral medicine, Medical School, U. of Athens, Greece) notes that 283 color plates have been added or replaced for a total of 777 illustrations; references have also been updated. The focus remains on clinical problems seen by dentists and physicians, from toothbrush trauma to tumors. Entries overview each condition, its differential diagnosis, lab tests, and treatment. The first English edition appeared in 1988. This iteration is based on the Greek editions (Litsas Medical Publications, Athens, 1998, 1986).
