This volume examines an emerging model of music therapy that is becoming known as Community Music Therapy (CoMT). Emphasizing music therapy's cultural context, CoMT aims to promote social justice by empowering its participants. Here, 14 contributions from international practitioners of CoMT describe some of the innovative methods they use in both conventional and unconventional settings. The editors are affiliated with the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Center in London. Annotation ©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR More Reviews and Recommendations
