Costs and Outcomes

Fourteen contributions from academics and practitioners consider the cost of the provision of community services for people with intellectual disabilities and assess their effectiveness in improving people's lives. Some of the issues examined include the direct and indirect costs of care provided by families; the criteria used to allocate funds for community services; and the debate over independent budgets versus traditional funding.
