For this second edition of a text/CD-ROM package on basics of surgical techniques, Sherris (otolaryngology, State University of New York- Buffalo) and Kern (medicine, Mayo Foundation) have added new material on areas such as endoscopy, and have revised the section on suture, needles, and knots to include illustrations for both right-handed and left-handed surgeons. Several simple operations are now illustrated. The CD-ROM has been expanded to two disks for this edition, with new video and film animations. Illustrations and photos in the text are in b&w.
