Vibrational medicine has been the focus of health researchers for years as they explored the relationship between sound and the healing process. It was during her advanced studies of social and cultural anthropology that Linda Nielsen, Ph.D., recognized the widespread use of singing and chanting in healing rituals among diverse cultures around the world. In her efforts to understand the healing process initiated by the voice, it became apparent that harmonic theory did not explain how the voice can be used as an instrument of healing. The focus of her research took a new, multidisciplinary approach to uncover an explanation of the multicultural vocal healing phenomenon. Microtonal Healing: Spirit of the Healing Voice is designed to give the reader a deeper awareness of the vocal healing experience beyond the physical, tonal qualities of sound. With a basic introduction to sound healing, this book offers newcomers, as well as those already familiar with the concepts of holistic health and energy medicine, a concise rationale for understanding the time tested use of the voice as a healing tool.
