The five-factor model is a taxonomy of personality traits in terms of five broad dimensions, and is considered by many to be a comprehensive classification that may be a conceptually useful framework for understanding and treating personality disorders. The 1994 edition has been updated to incorporate the some 81 studies since published specifically on the model, and well as relevant studies on related topics. Annotation c.
