This text/atlas illustrates radiographic and sonographic abnormalities of the common diseases of dogs and cats, with an emphasis on diagnosis (those who want to know more about the physics should look elsewhere, although the basics are covered in the introductory chapter). To keep book production costs under control, the images presented are a selection of those that best illustrate the lesions, even though the authors recommend multiple images for both radiographic and sonographic studies. Excluded are computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and nuclear scans (future editions will probably include these modalities as they become more accessible). Burk and Feeney co-authored this edition; Norman Ackerman, of previous editions, has retired from this publishing effort. Annotation ©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
