Based on their understanding that diagnostic radiology of the chest requires exposure to a large volume of thoracic imaging cases, Parker (radiology, Medical College of Virginia Hospitas--VCU Health System), Rosado-de-Christenson (radiology, the Ohio State U. College of Medicine), and Abbott (radiology, Brown Medical School) present a medical image atlas that begins with an overview of normal chest radiography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging anatomy before moving on to case-based review of numerous congenital, traumatic, and acquired thoracic. Each case typically includes four images of different modalities and discussion of diagnosis and differential diagnosis. Each case disease also is discussed in terms of etiology, pathology, treatment, and prognosis. One-hundred-and- ninety-two cases are included in all. Annotation © 2006 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
