As director and assistant director of the psychology program at the U. of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Goss Lucas (U. of Illinois, Urbana- Champaign) and Bernstein (U. of South Florida) revamped their program in 1984. This included the creation of a training program for graduate students who would be teaching most of the department's introductory psychology courses. Drawing on their years of teaching experience and the research and experiences of other psychology faculty, they have developed a practical, "how to" reference text for psychology graduate students who are learning to teach, faculty who train psychology instructors, new psychology faculty in high schools and higher education institutions, and experienced faculty. The accompanying CD-ROM includes sample lecture notes, writing assignments, grading criteria, forms, and other resource materials.
