Though of course it draws on the same body of scientific information as other health care professions, nursing has its own body of knowledge and its own perspective which need articulation, according to the author. Locsin (Florida Atlantic University) is both a nurse and a doctor (a Ph.D in nursing) and a Fullbright scholar who has worked on several continents and has published on many topics related to holistic nursing and health promotion; he is joined by four contributors whose interests and experiences overlap his own. They present a model of nursing practice that incorporates the use and understanding of technology (and its limitations). Published by Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
