Working Life for People with Severe Mental Illness

Working Life for People with Severe Mental Illness

The authors (both professors of community and family medicine, Dartmouth Medical School) update their ten-year-old work, A Working Life, discussing the use of "Individual Placement and Support" programs to help mentally ill individuals find supported employment. Before presenting their model for evidence-based supported employment practice, they discuss the historical, theoretical, and empirical background of their approach. They conclude by addressing common questions and dilemmas raised since the publication of the first work. Annotation ©2003 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
